About the project
As a lifelong LEGO fan, I have a deep appreciation for the iconic minifigure design and the artistry that goes into making each one unique. Over the years my collection of classic minifigures has grown, and I began seeking a way to catalogue them, while highlighting the beauty of each one.
Growing up in the early 2000s, I spent a great deal of time playing classic video games such as LEGO Island and LEGO Racers, both of which introduced me to classic 80s and 90s themes, which remain my favourites to this day.
In this project you will find minifigures mostly from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, with a few modern minifigures thrown in here and there.
All Minifig Archive photographs are produced through a process known as focus stacking, wherein multiple images taken with small changes in focus are composited to create a single, deep-focus image. This technique ensures every detail of the minifigure remains in sharp focus.
This project is by no means intended to archive every single minifigure. Instead, I want to highlight the minifigures that have defined my love for LEGO. That being said, I am also deeply interested in the minifigures that have defined your love for LEGO. If you have any requests for minifigures which you would like to see included in the archive, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
