Before Ninjago dominated store shelves, LEGO’s first homage to Feudal Japan came in the form of Ninja, a subtheme of Castle which ran from 1998 - 2000.

This minifigure, which appeared in seven sets, served the Samurai faction. His highly detailed printed face, torso, and legs show how LEGO’s design had evolved by the late 90s. His masterfully designed Kabuto helmet is topped with decorative chrome gold horns, while his chestplate completes the look of a capable, experienced Samurai.
